Here's what a few people have written:
Shakespeare camp was my home away from home. The eight years I spent there shaped me and molded me into the person I am today. I learned abundantly about self care, self advocacy, and community. Of my entire childhood, those few weeks each year stand out most to me. Looking back on the time meditating encourages me to return to the practice; remembering the laughs and groans during yoga helps me get through my own morning routines; all the hugs keep me warm during the coldest Vermont nights. They say in college you make friends that will last you a lifetime. They say that you become who you are when you get there. By the time I went to college, I already knew who I was, and I had a community of people that I swore I would never let go of. Thank you for that. I truly believe that Funnery made me a happier, calmer, more successful person. There aren't enough words in the dictionary to express my gratitude: thanks.
Sending love and hugs and happy wishes,

Being a teenager oftentimes you're told to sit down, shut up and just take orders. At the Funnery, however, there was so much love and acceptance that it created a safe space, a place where we could be free to be ourselves. We became more self confident, capable, intelligent, witty, moral, silly, physically and emotionally strong, and in general more prepared for life.

The Funnery is always some of the best Shakespeare I ever see. Our family comes up to the Northeast Kingdom every summer from New York City just for the Funnery. The community that Peter has created has changed all of our lives, especially our teen-ager, who found his voice and confidence at this camp... It's an oasis for self-expression in a context of hard work, discipline, and kindness. It is a model for teaching and art-making that continues to inspire me as a musician, teacher, and human.
