In 2020 we made a one-hour video that told the story of how a group of young people from all over the world—Vermont, Manhattan, Kathmandu, and Bombay—met in a Shakespeare space more ethereal than ever. And how in that space we created a play and a movement to use theater to challenge intolerance and hate speech, with The Merchant of Venice as a vehicle for our learning. Thanks to Vermont Humanities for encouraging this important work. Last year a whole bunch of Funnery actors talked about Climate Justice Education, with a script of A Midsummer Night's Dream in their hand!
