Get Thee to the Funnery brings you the
best young people's SHAKESPEARE you'll ever see (or do!)

Founder/Director Peter Gould says:
Romeo & Juliet 2024 is one for the ages now.

Our Funnery started in 1998 in the fabled Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. We're still right here. We do Shakespeare free-wheeling and physical, with the Bard's glorious language. But we're really a LIFE CAMP.  Because theater education is the antidote to—well, actually, it's the antidote to everything!
For two weeks we work our hearts, minds, bodies, and voices more than we do at any other time of the year. At camp you pick up skills in self-confidence that will stay with you forever. During these last few tough years our core teaching of compassion for each other has become more important than ever. We welcome everyone. We talk about important things, like how climate change will affect young people (A Midsummer Night's Dream). Like how do you process deep grief? (Hamlet in 2022). Like gender fluidity and bullying (Twelfth Night).  Juliet & Romeo in 2024: hmm, did we find any teen issues there?
