The best young people's SHAKESPEARE you'll ever see (or do!)
A Message from Founder/Director Peter GouldThe Funnery started in 1998 with one camp in Craftsbury, in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. We've grown to multiple camps in many places. We do theater with high schoolers and middle schoolers. We all do Shakespeare in a free-wheeling physical style that stays faithful to Shakespeare's glorious language. We call ourselves a "life camp" because we've found that THEATER EDUCATION is the antidote to—well, to just about everything! You can go right to the CAMPS pages to sign up for 2018! |
We study Shakespeare's most awesome plays; we have tons of fun; we work our hearts, minds, bodies, and voices more than any of us do anywhere else—at any other time. We turn each camp into TWO WEEKS TOWARD A MORE POWERFUL YOU! We work at such a fever pitch that our final performances buzz and resonate in the minds of campers, families, staffers, and audiences throughout the other fifty weeks of the year! And, for many of our participants, that feeling of successful self-expression and positive self-esteem ends up staying with them in a permanent way.
So, what are you waiting for? Go to the CAMPS page and find the one nearest to you.
